A day out at sea is a must while in Portofino. Camogli, whose centuries-old fishing traditions are very evident in its harbor crowded with colorful boats and in its name: roughly translated, Camogli means “house of wives,” referring to the wives of the fishermen who anxiously watched for their husbands to return from the sea. Your next stop will be in the little fishing village of San Fruttuoso di Capodimonte dominated by a 10th century Benedictine monastic complex with a 16th century tower built to protect the bay from pirates. Soft drinks, fresh fruit and beach towels will be available on board.
