Welcome to Panama! Upon arrival at Tocumen International Airport you will be transferred to your hotel in Panama City for check-in. The remainder of the day is yours at leisure to explore and get to know the capital of Panama.

After breakfast, head to the Metropolitan Natural Park for a hiking and bird watching tour on a short nature trail. While hiking to the matador (lookout point) of Metropolitan Nature Park, you will be fascinated by the beautiful views of Panama City, its bay, the Panama Canal and the national parks that protect the Canal’s watershed.Afterwards, you will be visiting Panama La Vieja, the first city founded on the isthmus by the Spanish at the beginning of colonization. The remaining ruins are the vestiges of the city left by Pirate Henry Morgan, who sacked the town in 1671. You will have the opportunity to shop for souvenirs near the ruins. Then, we will head for the second colonial city of Panama, Casco Antiguo, which was built in 1673. Here we will walk the French Plaza and surrounding area. The architecture here includes colonial styles of the French, Italian, American and Spanish. (B)

Early morning, depart toChagres National Park where you step into a canoe and glide on tothe Embera indigenous village. Discover their history and traditions,see a performance of tribal dances and drums, and savor atraditional lunch. Learn about their relationship with nature, shophandmade crafts, and have a body art experience with traditional“jagua”, a natural dye. Opt to walk up 600 meters for a swim at thewaterfall. (B,L)

Today is a free day for you to relax and explore on your own. (B)

This morning you will drive to the town of Gamboa, where the Chagres River meets the Panama Canal. Here you will board a boat and start your jungle-adventure expedition across the Gatun Lake in the Panama Canal. The boat tour will circle rainforest-covered islands (former hill tops) in the Gatun Lake to search for the White-faced Capuchin, Mantled Howler Monkey, Central American Spider Monkey, and Geoffrey’s Tamar in. Following the boat tour, we will head to Soberania National Park for a hiking tour around the trails of the lush forest. (B)

This morning enjoy a kayaking adventure in the Panama Canal Watershed. As you begin your journey into the Panama Canal Watershed, you will leave the Panama City limits and enter in to Soberania National Park, buildings will slowly be replaced by secondary and primary rain forest, and you will pass the former Fort Clayton, Miraflores Locks before entering the Park. Keep your eyes open for toucans, sloths and other animals as they awake with the morning sun. Once you reach the dock you will receive a safety briefing and introductory paddle lesson before slipping into your kayaks to start paddling into the heart of the Panama Canal Zone. Sitting at water level in your kayak will give you an interesting perspective of the Panama Canal in action. Our guide will lead you to places of special interest, while educating you about the flora and fauna of the area. (B)

After breakfast, take a half day Canal tour. This tour takes you to visit the different attractions of the Panama Canal such as: the Panama Canal Commission Building and Goethals Monument, the former Albrook US Military air force and Clayton US Military base and then we will then finish at the Miraflores Locks where you will learn the about the operations of the Canal and have time to admire this manmade invention. (B)

Today is a free day for you to relax and explore on your own. Optional activities can be arranged upon your request such as hiking, birding, kayaking tours, and visit to the Embera Indigenous Encounter in the property. (B)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Tocumen International Airport for your international flight home. (B)
