your hotel in the Galilee where you will meet your fellow travelers at a

This morning enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, followed by a

visit to Beit Allon to view the ancient fishing boat dating back to the

first century. Next, it’s on to Tabgha, site of the Miracle of the Loaves

and Fishes, and visit the Church of the Multiplication with its 4th

century mosaic floor. Continue to Capernaum to see the second

century synagogue where Jesus preached and where He gathered his

disciples. Our next stop is Mount of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on

the Mount. Then head to Caesarea Philippi also known as Banias

where Peter made his confession of Faith and identified Jesus as the

Messiah. Return to your hotel where we will savor an included dinner.

Today you will

pass Cana of Galilee on the way to Nazareth where we will visit the

Church of The Annunciation and Mary’s well. Head to Muchraka

where Elijah’s Altar was situated when he confronted the false

prophets of Baal. Continue to Caesarea, built by Herod the Great in

22 BC. Here you will see the Roman Theater, the Aqueduct, and the

Herodian port. It was in Caesarea that Cornelius was baptized by

Peter and where Paul was brought to trial. On return to your hotel,

drive through the Valley of Armageddon and stop at the excavation of

Tel Megiddo. Overnight Tiberias. (B,D)

Driving along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, arrive at

Yardenit – the Baptismal site on the River Jordan. Then it’s on to the

city of Beit Shean (Scythopolis) to see the impressive Roman ruins.

Motor along the River Jordan Valley, bypassing Jericho to arrive at

Bethlehem where you will visit the church of The Nativity, the Milk

Grotto, Shepherds Field, and Manger Square. Proceed to your hotel in

Jerusalem. Overnight Jerusalem. (B,D)

DAY 5

Travel

via the Inn of The Good Samaritan to the lowest point of earth – the

Dead Sea. Driving along its shores arrive at Masada, then ascend by

cable car to the top of the mountain and see Herod’s palace, the food

storeroom, and the water irrigation system. Continue to Ein Gedi,

where King David found shelter from the wrath of King Saul. Weather

permitting you will have the opportunity to float in the hyper-saline

Dead Sea. Next stop is Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were

discovered. Return to Jerusalem for dinner. Overnight Jerusalem.

DAY 6

JERUSALEM - OLD CITY

The day’s exploration commences

as you enter the walled old city of Jerusalem through St. Stephen’s

Gate, visiting the Pool of Bethesda, the Chapel of the Flagellation, and

Ecce Home Arch. Walking along the Via Dolorosa and last Stations of

the Cross, arrive at the Church of The Holy Sepulchre and view the

Gabbatha Pavement. Next, it’s on to the Jewish quarter visiting the

Cardo, the wide wall built by King Hezekiah, and the Herodian

Mansion. Proceed to the Temple area – Mount Moriah. See the

Western Wall and visit the Ophel archaeological park and museum.

Return to your hotel for dinner. Overnight Jerusalem. (B,D)

Visit the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea

Scrolls are on display, and the model of Jerusalem at the time of the

2nd Temple. Head on to the Mount of Scopus, then to the Mount of

Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. Next, visit the Chapel of

Ascension, the Garden of Gethsemane, and the Church of All Nations.

Driving along the Kidron Valley you will see the Tombs of Absalom,

Zecharia, and James. Continue to Mount Zion to visit the Room of

The Last Supper and King David’s Tomb. The tour ends at the Garden

Tomb where we will share in Communion service. Tonight, enjoy a

farewell dinner before heading to the airport for your flight home. (If

your flight is the next morning, an additional night at the hotel is

required. (B)
