A current day Latin American culinary hub, take time to tantalize your taste-buds at one of the many “cevicherías” or popular street food stands.

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, visit the Chinchero community, featuring remains of the royal hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui as well as colonial temples. Transfer to “El Mirador de Racchi” for a splendid view of the Sacred Valley. Then, enjoy lunch before returning to your hotel. (B,L)

This morning opt for an optional tour after breakfast. In the afternoon, tour the typical Inca community of Ollantaytambo. Stone terraces rise from the edge of town leading up to its fortress’ ruins at the top of the hill. A stone stairway leads up through the terrace walls, allowing you to step out onto them. One of the area’s best-preserved spots sits north of the Hanan Huacaypata square featuring an area of 15 blocks of houses built on top of carved stone walls. (B)

Early morning transfer to Ollantaytambo train station. Our adventure starts on a train ride to the city of Aguas Calientes, then it’s on to the aweinspiring Machu Picchu archaeological site. You will never forget this mind-blowing journey through the history of the Inca civilization. Explore Peru’s most important archaeological site and one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Return by bus and train to Ollantaytambo station. Transfer to your hotel in Cusco. (B)

Day 5 - CUSCO

This morning, begin with a half day city tour of Cusco. Explore the center of the Inca Empire, the Plaza de Armas and see the cathedral built on the ruins of the ancient Inca Palace. Next, stop at the old town with its magnificent renovated colonial buildings. Proceed to Sacsayhuaman, a ruins site located approximately 3 km above Cusco that boasts fabulous views over the city. Afterwards visit the surrounding ruins. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. (B)

Your full day included bus tour from Cusco to Puno leads through the Peruvian highland along the snow-covered peaks of the Andes, passing small villages, and reaching its highest point in La Raya. On route you will visit the town of Andahuaylillas, the ruins of Racchi, and the small town of Pucara. Lunch in a typical restaurant is included. Transfer to your hotel upon arrival in Puno, known as the “Folklore Capital of Peru.” (B,L)

In the morning transfer to Puno’s dock and depart to the Uros Islands on Titicaca Lake. The Uros are 40 small floating islands made of packed totora (reed), located within the Titicaca National Reserve. The Uros live just as their ancestors did, maintaining their customs.
