Today you will have a guided tour of Madrid, the capital and largest city in Spain. Known for its many historic districts as well as its modern infrastructure, the city's top landmarks include the elaborate Royal Palace, Buen Retiro Park, Plaza Mayor, and renowned art galleries such as the Prado Museum and Centro de Arte Reina Sofia. Today, you'll take an excursion to the walled city of Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ancient capital of Spain. Populated since pre-Roman times, its landmarks include the Alcazar of Toledo, Cathedral of Toledo and the El Greco Museum. (B)

This morning, you will depart Madrid for a full day tour of Salamanca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located at the center of Spain's Castilla y Leon region. Your guided city tour includes the university buildings, the 12th century Romanesque church of San Martin, the House of Shells, and a lunch featuring authentic Spanish cuisine at a local restaurant. Enjoy some free time to explore the city on your own. Later, you will be transferred to Vega Teron to board your luxurious ship. This evening, meet your fellow passengers at the Welcome Dinner. After breakfast, tour Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, a fortified 16th century village perched high on a hilltop with many steep, narrow streets. Be sure to stop in the market square to admire the Chafariz dos Pretos, a striking fountain decorated with black faces. Rejoin the ship in Barca D'Alva and enjoy a ''sail away'' mimosa as your ship departs early this afternoon for Pinhao. Arriving this evening, you will enjoy a wine-tasting and dinner at Quinta Avessada in Favelas. The ship moors overnight in Pinhao. (B,L,D)

This morning, enjoy an excursion to ancient and picturesque Lamego, home to one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Portugal, the Nossa Senhora dos Remedios (Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies). Other attractions include a gothic cathedral, a museum, and cafes known for local specialties such as bola de lamego (bread filled with smoked ham) and raposeira (sparkling wine). This afternoon, enjoy the wild, rugged scenery as your ship cruises through the dramatic gorges of the Douro river valley en route to Regua. After arriving this evening, you may visit the Douro Museum. The ship overnights in Regua. (B,L,D)

This morning, enjoy an excursion to the palace and gardens known as the Palacio de Mateus, located in the beautiful region of Tras-os-Montes near the city of Vila Real. This afternoon, your ship departs for Caldas de Aregos. After arriving this evening, enjoy a casual BBQ with your fellow passengers on the Sun Deck. The ship moors overnight. (B,L,D)

This morning, visit the historic town of Resende in Caldas de Aregos. Return to the ship for lunch and cruise to Bitetos. After arriving in Bitetos this evening, savor a pre-dinner glass of port wine and a breathtaking view of the river valley from the terrace of the 14th Century Alpendurada Monastery, followed by a traditional ''home cooked'' meal. This morning, depart for Porto, arriving early afternoon. Your sightseeing tour of Porto will show you 16th century arcaded buildings, Baroque churches and the magnificent iron bridge built by French engineer Gustave Eiffel. You will also have a chance to see the elegant residential section along the Atlantic coast and enjoy some free time to explore the Old City on your own. For some modern culture, you may want to head to the Boavista area, where you will find the Casa da Musica and the Museum of Modern Art. Your ship overnights in Porto. (B,L,D)

Today, enjoy an excursion to Guimar?es, one of the most historic towns in Portugal and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Say farewell to your friends at the Farewell Cocktail Reception. The ship moors in Porto overnight. (B,L,D)

After disembarking your ship in Porto, you will be transferred to Fatima, a town renowned for its Basilica shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Explore the town and enjoy lunch on your own before continuing to Lisbon for your post-cruise stay. (B)

One of Europe's most beautiful cities, Lisbon sprawls across several hills along the Tagus River. Your city tour visits Old Town and the spectacular 16th Century Jer?nimos Monastery. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to explore the city at your leisure, perhaps visiting the Castle of S?o Jorge or the Santa Justa Elevator that overlooks the castle, the river and Rossio Square. Enjoy an afternoon excursion to Serra de Sintra, one of the most picturesque mountain villages in Portugal, former home of the Portuguese royal family, and a source of inspiration for generations of poets. You will have a guided tour and a view of the Castelo da Pena, a fairy tale castle from Portugal's Romantic Period, situated high up on a rocky peak. (B)
