Morning arrival into Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Airport. Here you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure to explore “The Eternal City” at your own pace.

This morning experience a very special privately guided tour of the priceless collection of art and treasures in the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museum. Then proceed to the Piazza Venezia and Roman Forum, with a stop at the Colosseum – a testament to the greatness of Rome’s past. Continue your full day tour by viewing the Arch of Constantine, Circus Maximus, the Great Synagogue, Isola Tiberina and Castel Sant’Angelo. Tonight share in a special dinner with wine in a lovely Roman restaurant. (B,D)

After breakfast drive south to Naples for an orientation tour of the city. Before heading to Sorrento, stop in Pompeii, the ancient city covered by volcanic lava 2,000 years ago, for a guided tour of the remarkably preserved ruins of temples, houses, gardens and public buildings. Then drive along the spectacular coast road of the Bay of Naples to Sorrento, the famous resort town of orange and lemon groves. Dinner at the restaurant located in your hotel is included. (B,D)

Leave Sorrento in the morning and head towards the spectacular Amalfi Coast. Weather permitting, board a motorlaunch and cruise along the coast to Amalfi for a walking tour of the old town. Continue to Ravello. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant with amazing vistas of the picture perfect coast and the Bay of Salerno. Take time for a stroll around the center of town before returning to Sorrento. (B,L)

A morning jetfoil whisks you across the blue Bay of Naples to the fabled Isle of Capri, where you will ascend to the Piazzetta, visit the Floral Gardens of Caesar Augustus, and still have free time for lunch and some shopping before returning to Sorrento. Tonight dinner is at a local restaurant. (B,D)

This morning we depart Sorrento for Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993. Your tour of Matera will guide you through the city of the caverns, entrenched villages, peasant houses carved in the rock, frescoed rocky churches, grand Romanesque, and Baroque churches, and notable noble palaces. Take advantage of free time to explore and enjoy lunch on your own. Later, we drive to Savelletri di Fasano and check in our lovely old-world countryside hotel. (B)

Today embark on an insightful sightseeing experience to explore the unique architecture of the ancient white-washed trulli stone houses found in the town of Alberobello. Savor an authentic lunch at Ristorante Trullo D’oro. This afternoon, stop in Cisternino for fresh olive oil tasting. (B,L)

After breakfast depart for Lecce, a city with few diverting Roman remains and a wealth of fine architecture scattered about an appealing old town, stopping at a local winery for a wine tasting session at a well renowned estate. Your guided city tour will introduce you to the beauty of Lecce, a mini Baroque masterpiece. Its narrow winding streets offer a kaleidoscopic mix of long-range vistas, alluring glimpses, and playful perspectives that have long enchanted visitors. In the afternoon head towards Otranto, for a guided tour of Italy's easternmost town. The imposing castle, thick perimeter walls, and robust towers dominate much of the town, giving way to a small port. This evening, join us for a farewell dinner at the hotel. (B,D)
