Aptly named for its abundance of fresh spring water, La Spugna is a really wonderful retreat. There is a nearby freshwater lake which is suitable for swimming. One and a half kms uphill through forest from the main road, this beautifully converted, character property enjoys excellent views.

Location

In this very large house the unobtrusive owners live on the first floor. They are wine producers and offer free wine tasting twice weekly in a nearby fattoria. Quality furnishings provide comfort inside the house whilst outside there is a convenient covered parking area. Midway between Florence and Siena, which are less than an hour's drive away, the village of Radda in Chianti with good shopping facilities and eating places, is close by. From Radda there is a bus service to Siena. Within a 20 minute drive is the public swimming pool at Cavriglia Nature Park.

Layout

Ground floor entrance into sitting/dining room with lovely fireplace. Well equipped kitchen with cooker, oven and fridge. To one side of the sitting room is a twin bedded room with en suite shower room and WC. To the other side, off a corridor is one single bedded room, one twin bedded room and a bathroom with WC etc.
