Two mystical countries rich with historical tales and monuments unite for one amazing Cruise and Land Tour guaranteeing 13 days of exciting experiences. Your arrival in Cairo will provide the ideal launching pad for visiting the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx, and the Egyptian Museum. A 4-day cruise on the Nile River aboard the M/S Sonesta Nile Goddess will take you past riverside temples used to worship the gods and to the incredible Valley of the Kings & Queens. You’ll then fly to Jordan’s capital city, Amman, to be greeted by Roman ruins, desert castles and Petra, the Rose-Red City of the 1st Century Nabateans. Final visits to Petra’s Treasury, carved out of solid rock on the side of the mountain, an old Monastery atop the mountain and other biblical sites rounds out this magical tour of Egypt and Jordan. Our unique trip features include these fascinating Egyptian sight tours led by certified Egyptologists.

Day 2 Tue Cairo

Upon arrival in Cairo, transfer your hotel.



Day 3 Wed Cairo

Full day tour. Visit the Egyptian Museum, the Citadel, and view the Muhammad Ali Mosque. In Old Cairo, we visit Al Moallaka Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue and Khan el-Khalili market. Lunch is included during tour. (B,L)



Day 4 Thu Cairo (Giza Pyramids, Memphis & Sakkara)

Drive to see the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx. Travel to Memphis. See the Colossus of Ramses and the Alabaster Sphinx. In Sakkara, see the Step Pyramid and the Pyramid of Teti. Lunch is included during tour. (B,L)



Day 5 Fri Cairo/Aswan/Cruise (Edfu)

Fly to Aswan.Transfer to the M/S Sonesta Nile Goddess.Tour the High Dam and the Granite Quarries. See the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae. Sail to Kom Ombo and see the temples of Sobek and Haroeris. Sail to Edfu. (B,L,D)



Day 6 Sat Cruise (Edfu/Luxor)

Ride by horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Horus. Sail via the Esna Lock to Luxor. (B,L,D)



Day 7 Sun Cruise (Luxor)

Visit the Valley of the Kings & Queens, view the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Memnon Colossi. (B,L,D)



Day 8 Mon Cruise (Luxor/Cairo)

Morning visit of theTemple of Karnak and its 'Hypostyle Hall'. Proceed to the Temple of Luxor. Disembark and transfer to Luxor Airport for your flight to Cairo. (B,L)



Day 9 Tue Cairo/Amman

Morning transfer to Cairo International Airport for your flight to Amman where you will be transferred to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure. (B)



Day 10 Wed Amman

Morning tour of Amman, visiting the Citadel, the Roman theatre, new and old parts of Amman and the Gold Souk. (B)



Day 11 Thu Amman/Petra

This morning enjoy a city tour of Jerash, the best preserved city of the Roman Decapolis. Walk the colonnaded streets of this city. View its temples, churches, Nymphaeum, and theatre. Afterwards, proceed to Aljoun, the 12th century castle built by Saladin's army in the campaign against the crusaders. Late afternoon departure to Petra. (B)



Day 12 Fri Petra/Amman

Full day tour of Petra, the Rose-Red City of the 1st Century Nabateans. A walk or horse-ride through the 1 mile Sq. (an immense gorge through the mountains) and arrive at Petra's most impressive site, The Treasury, carved out of solid rock on the side of the mountain. Surrounded on both sides by hundreds of carved structures, soaring temples, elaborate royal tombs, the Roman theatre and burial chambers. The young at heart may climb to the Monastery above the mountains. Return to Amman. (B)



Day 13 Sat Amman to USA (or extend your stay)

Transfer to Amman Airport for your return flight home. (B)
