Itinerary 2010|
Day 1 Depart USA Overnight flight to London. Meals and refreshments served on board. Day 2 London You will arrive early this morning at London's Heathrow Airport from where you will transfer on your own to your selected hotel. After you check-in you have the balance of the day is at leisure. You might like to spend the afternoon window shopping in Oxford Street or visiting world-famous Harrods, without doubt a fantastic department store (albeit pricey). In the evening London's pubs or a West End theatre show are fun. Language is no problem anywhere! Day 3 London You have a 1-day pass to enjoy a Hop on-Hop off city tour that gives you great flexibility in your sightseeing. London great sights include Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey and you should not miss the British Museum. You may also find time for an afternoon tea in a posh London hotel or something more informal and wallet-friendly... nothing could be more British than afternoon tea in London. Day 4 London A full day at your disposal to take in more of the city. Should you like to venture outside of town there are many fabulous places nearby. Windsor Castle, Stratford-upon-Avon of Shakespearean fame, or the mysterious, prehistoric monument of Stonehenge. Say farewell to London in style at one of the great restaurants that dot Soho, Chelsea or Mayfair. Day 5 London/Paris After a good English breakfast you will have some extra time in London before being transferred from your hotel to Heathrow Airport for your short flight to Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport. Here you will receive a transfer to your selected hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure and you may start exploring Paris, the city of romance. Join the Parisians at a sidewalk cafe and when evening comes why not include an exciting Parisian cabaret? Day 6 Paris This day will begin with a half-day city tour around Paris. Your trip will take you to the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Hôtel de Ville, the Louvre, Place Vendôme, the Opera, Concorde, Champs Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe, Tour Eiffel, Trocadero, Sacre-Coeur, and Montmartre. The afternoon and evening are at leisure and you may return to the Champs Elysees for a pleasant walk along the fashionable boutiques and in the evening stop in Saint-Germain-des-Pres, the section of town renowned for the painters, writers, and actors that made it famous. The cafe Les Deux Magots to the Cafe de Flore still cater to intellectuals. Day 7 Paris A full day at leisure. You may buy a Metro pass that gets you on any bus or subway in the city and move around like a native. Paris surroundings are also very interesting. We strongly recommend excursions Giverny, Versailles, or the forest of Fontainebleau. For your adieu to Paris you may go to the Seine River for a dinner cruise and dancing under the lights of this most beautiful city. Other "cool" choices might be a dinner and show at the Lido or Moulin Rouge. Day 8 Return to USA (or extend your stay) This morning after breakfast you will transfer on your own to Charles de Gaulle Airport for your return flight to the USA, arriving the same day. |
