Day 1 Depart USA
Evening departure. Meals and refreshments served on board.

Day 2 Rome
Morning arrival into Rome's Leonardo da Vinci Airport. Transfer to the hotel of your choice. Balance of the day is at leisure. After unpacking, you may want to sample your first, but not your last, Roman cappuccino 'al fresco'.

Day 3 Rome
Your morning tour reveals Rome's infinite aspects and eras. See Piazza della Repubblica with the Najads Fountain, Via Veneto (the Rodeo Drive of Rome), Palazzo Margherita (the American Embassy), and the Aurelian Walls (3rd century A.D.). Continue to the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and then visit St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. Afternoon and evening are free for independent exploration. (B)

Day 4 Rome
Today you may want to enjoy an optional excursion to Pompeii, Capri and idyllic Sorrento. (B)

Day 5 Rome/Florence
Depart Rome by rail and head north through the Gentle Umbrian hills to Florence. Balance of the day is at leisure. (B)

Day 6 Florence
Today you'll see examples of the Renaissacne, an age of unbounded creativity. Admire the splendid il Duomo, the Bapistry, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Piazza Della Signoria and the Accademia Museum, housing Michelagelo's famous statue of David. The afternoon is free for you to explore Florence's lovely shops and boutiques. (B)

Day 7 Florence
The city of Florence is a museum in itself with endless landmarks to discover or enjoy an excursion to nearby Siena, San Gimignano or Pisa. (B)

Day 8 Florence/Monterosso al Mare (Cinque Terre)
Depart Florence by rail to La Spezia and connect with the quaint rail line to Monteroso al Mare, located at the beginning of this spectacular coastline of Cinque Terre, declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site. The area is one of the best preserved natural and semi-natural parts of the Mediterranean. The balance of the day is at leisure. (B)

Day 9 Monterosso al Mare (Cinque Terre)
Your Cinque Terre Train Card will give you access to unlimited travel along the Cinque Terre coast enabling you to visit the other four villages nestled along the coastline, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. You may also walk some of the hiking paths, visit a restored oil mill or even an anchovies manufacturing plant. (B)

Day 10 Monterosso al Mare (Cinque Terre)
In Monterosso al Mare, there are many exciting optional trips available. You may sail along the 'dolphin' trail with a marine biologist, take a cooking class and learn how 'pesto', the local specialty, is made or perhaps visit vineyards and cultured terraces. (B)

Day 11 Monterosso al Mare (Cinque Terre)/Pisa/USA (or extend your stay)
After breakfast, transfer to Pisa Airport for your return flight home, arriving the same day. (B)
