Day 1 Depart USA Overnight flight to Paris. Meals and refreshments served on board. Days 2-4 Paris Early morning arrival in Paris. Enjoy 3 days at leisure in Paris, the City of Lights. Included is a Discover Paris tour that will take you to many of the major sites, including Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum, the Champs Elys�es, the Op�ra, the Tour Eiffel and other landmarks. During your time in Paris, there are exciting optional tours and excursions � Versailles, Fontainbleau, Chartres and the discovery of the city's nightlife. (B) Day 5 Paris/Venice Morning departure from Paris and arrival at Venice's Marco Polo Airport. Venice, aptly called the Queen of Cities, is a magical tapestry of Renaissance buildings perched on narrow canals, with sleek gondolas gliding silently beneath ornate bridges. Rediscover romance in a gondola or take a 'vaporetto' ride on the Grand Lagoon and mingle with the Venetians. (B) Day 6 Venice Your morning walking tour is highlighted by visits to the golden Basilica of St. Mark and the Doge's Palace, decorated by 16th century artists such as Titian and Tintoretto. Also view the Bridge of Sighs and Piombi Prison. Remainder of your day is free. (B) Day 7 Venice/Florence This morning travel from Venice to Florence by rail. Depart Venice and head south through the gentle countryside of the Emilia- Romagna region to Florence, Cradle of the Renaissance. Balance of the day is at leisure. (B) Days 8-9 Florence Two full days for your own activities. The city is a museum in itself, with endless possibilities: Michelangelo's David in the Accademia, the Uffizi Gallery, or perhaps an excursion to Siena, San Gimignano, or Pisa. You will also have an included morning walking tour of the city including the il Duomo, the Baptistry, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Accademia Museum, and more. (B) Day 10 Florence/Rome This morning travel from Florence to Rome by rail. Depart Florence and head south through the Tuscan and Umbrian hills that have inspired saints, artists and admirers of beauty. When in Rome, after unpacking, you may want to sample your first Roman cappuccino 'al fresco'. (B) Days 11-12 Rome Enjoy two full days at leisure in Rome. Your package includes a driving tour of the city, taking you past a number of sites including the Najads Fountain, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. You may want to enjoy an optional excursion to Pompeii, idyllic Capri and Sorrento with their beautiful panoramic views of Mt. Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. (B) Day 13 Rome to USA (or extend your stay) After breakfast, transfer to Rome's Leonardo da Vinci Airport for your return flight home, arriving the same day. (B) |
