Day 1 Depart USA

Overnight flight to Santiago de Compostela, Spain.



Day 2 Santiago de Compostela

Arrive at Santiago de Compostela Airport where you can pick up your car rental and drive the short distance to the city hotel of your choice. Take time to familiarize yourself with this Celtic UNESCO World Heritage City.



Day 3 Santiago de Compostela

We suggest a walking tour through the charming streets of Santiago's Old Quarter to the main square and a visit of the 11th century Cathedral where St. James the Apostle is said to be buried. Afterwards, take in some of Santiago's Celtic roots at a colorful cafe where you can hear local bagpipe music called �gaitas'. (B)



Day 4 Santiago de Compostela/La Coruna/Oviedo

Depart towards La Coruna and visit the newly appointed UNESCO World Heritage site Torre de Hercules, known as the world's oldest functioning lighthouse. Take a walk along the 'promenade of glass' and savor some of Spain's best seafood at the main square. Afterwards, enjoy the scenic drive towards the city of Oviedo, in Spain's northern region. (B)



Day 5 Oviedo/Santillana del Mar/Bilbao

In the morning, visit Oviedo. Highlights include the Sacred Chamber Museum and the Chapel of Saint Michael in Oviedo's San Salvador Cathedral, containing relics dating back to Spain's earliest days of Christendom. Afterwards, make your way to Santillana del Mar for a visit to the recently opened replica of Santillana's Altamira caves for a view of UNESCO protected cultural site replicas of Paleolithic art dating back 14,000 years. Continue towards Bilbao and check in at your hotel of choice for the evening. (B)



Day 6 Bilbao

Spend the day getting to know Bilbao. Begin with a visit to the historic quarter and stop in the Baroque temple before taking in a lively cafe to sample some Basque appetizers, 'pinxtos'. In the afternoon, visit Frank Gehry's masterpiece, the titanium structure, Bilbao Guggenheim Museum. (B)



Day 7 Bilbao to USA (or extend your stay)

Drive a short distance to Bilbao Airport where you can return your car and depart for the USA, arriving the same day. (B)
