Very few tours will offer more in-depth exposure to Italy and Greece, than this one. Meticulously selected from each country are the very best locations for a once in a lifetime experience. After a thorough tour of Italy, that includes Venice, Florence and Rome, we cross to Greece for a two night stay in Athens and conclude with a fabulous four night cruise to the Greek Islands and Turkey.

Overnight flight to Venice. Meals and refreshments served on board.

Day 2 Sat Venice
Morning arrival in Venice where your Central Holidays tour host will meet and assist you with transfer to your hotel. Afternoon and balance of day at leisure.

Day 3 Sun Venice
Your morning walking tour is highlighted by visits to the golden Basilica of St. Mark and the Doge's Palace decorated by 16th century artists such as Titian and Tintoretto. Also view the Bridge of Sighs and Piombi Prison. Afternoon and balance of day at leisure. (B)

Day 4 Mon Venice/Florence
This morning travel south by first class rail to Florence, Cradle of the Renaissance. Arrive at your hotel. Balance of afternoon and day at leisure. (B)

Day 5 Tue Florence
Today you'll see examples of an age of unbounded creativity. Your morning tour begins at the splendid Duomo, crowned with the magnificent Brunelleschi dome, the Baptistry with its exquisite doors by Ghiberti, Giotto's Bell Tower, Piazza Della Signoria, the Accademia Museum and Piazzale Michelangelo overlooking splendid views of the domes and red-tiled roofs of the city. The afternoon is free for you to explore Florence's lovely shops and boutiques. (B)

Day 6 Wed Florence/Rome
Morning travel by first class rail to Rome and your hotel. Balance of afternoon and day at leisure. (B)

Day 7 Thu Rome
Your morning tour reveals Rome's infinite aspects and eras. Drive through Piazza della Republica and admire its Najads Fountain. Continue on Via Bissolati and Via Veneto (the Rodeo Drive of Rome) and see Palazzo Margherita (seat of the American Embassy), Aurelian Walls (3rd century A.D.), and Piazza Barberini. Pass by the Quirinale Palace, residence of the President of the Italian Republic, then visit the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. Drive past Piazza Navona, Palace of Justice, Castel Sant'Angelo, Via della Conciliazione, then visit St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. Afternoon and evening are free for independent exploration. Day 8 Fri Rome
Today you may want to enjoy an optional excursion to Pompeii, Capri and idyllic Sorrento with their beautiful panoramic views of Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. (B)

Day 9 Sat Rome/Athens
Transfer to the airport in Rome for your flight to Athens. Upon arrival your local Central Holidays host will assist you with transfer to your selected hotel. Balance of afternoon and evening at leisure. (B)

Day 10 Sun Athens
Half-day morning city tour includes highlights of Athens and the Acropolis plus the new Acropolis Museum. Afternoon and balance of day at leisure. (B)

Day 11 Mon Piraeus/Mykonos
After breakfast, you transfer to the port of Piraeus and embark your cruise ship. Sail to the picturesque isle of Mykonos known for its windmills and lively harbor. Resume sailing in the evening. (B,L,D)

Day 12 Tue Kusadasi/Patmos
Morning arrival in Kusadasi, Turkey, located nearby Ephesus, one of the 'Seven Wonders of the Ancient World'. Wander through the famous Turkish bazaar or enjoy an optional tour of Ephesus. This afternoon sail to Patmos, site of the Monastery of St. John the Divine and the Grotto of the Apocalypse. Optional excursion to visit these sites is available. Evening departure for Rhodes. Day 13 Wed Rhodes
A day on the Island of Roses, famed for its Medieval Old Town, great shopping and ancient site of the Colossus of Rhodes. Visit the Temple of Athena on the majestic Acropolis of Lindos, overlooking the Bay of Paul (optional) or visit the Valley of Butterflies on your own. Sail in the evening. (B,L,D)

Day 14 Thu Heraklion/Santorini
Morning call at Greece's largest island, Crete. Visit Knossos and the Palace of King Minos (optional). Later, you sail for the volcanic island of Santorini. Some of the villages are perched on the rim of the volcano and believed by many to be the site of the Lost Continent of Atlantis. View a breathtaking sunset before you sail later this evening. (B,L,D)

Day 15 Fri Cruise/Piraeus/USA
Disembark in Piraeus this morning and transfer to Athens Airport for your return flight to the USA, arriving the same day. (B)
