Classical Tour is a 4-day, 3-night package that encompasses all pertinent historical periods of Greece. In Athens, visit the Corinth Canal, Theatre of Epidaurus, town of Nauplion and Mycenae. Then travel to Olympia via the Central Peloponnese and visit the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis. Have dinner and overnight. Morning tour includes the Archaeological Site, Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. Depart Olympia and arrive in Delphi in time for dinner and overnight. Morning tour of the Archaeological Site and the Museum with the famed bronze Charioteer. Then depart for Kalambaka for dinner and overnight. This morning visit Meteora, with its striking scenery. Visit ancient monasteries and see exquisite Byzantine art. Return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia, and Thermopylae, arriving in the early evening.

Itinerary

Day 1 Athens/Olympia (or Patras)
Drive by the coastal road to the Corinth Canal (short stop). Resume travel and visit the Theatre of Epidaurus famous for its remarkable acoustics. Continue driving to the town of Nauplion (short stop) and proceed to Mycenae where you will see the Lion's Gate and visit the Archaeological Site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. After this important visit, we travel to Olympia via the Central Peloponnese and the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis. Dinner and overnight in Olympia. (D)

Day 2 Olympia (or Patras)/Delphi
In Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic Games, you will visit the Archaeological Site, with the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. At completion of this visit, drive through the plains of Eliad and Achaia to the magnificent bridge which crosses the Corinthian Bay from Rion to Antirion. Pass by the picturesque towns of Nafpactos (Lepanto) and Itea and arrive in Delphi in time for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 3 Delphi/Kalambaka
Morning visit to the Archaeological Site and the Museum with the famed bronze sculpture, the "Charioteer of Delphi". Depart for Kalambaka, a small town situated at the foot of the astonishing complex of Meteora's gigantic rocks. Dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 4 Kalambaka/Meteora/Athens
Visit Meteora, perched atop gigantic rocks, as if suspended in mid-air between the earth and the sky - a striking scene. Visit the ancient monasteries where you can see exquisite specimens of Byzantine art. Return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia and Thermopylae (visit Leonida's Monument). Arrive in Athens in the early evening. (B)
