TourDescription

Lively Athens, a city where modernity and mythological history mix seamlessly, is a pleasure to the senses. From the Acropolis, the pinnacle of Greece classical period, to bustling outdoor cafes, the distance is barely existent. The major historical sites and dining and entertainment quarters are all close together making Athens a great walking city. Then there are blindingly bright islands to explore. Mikonos, the haven of the jet set, Patmos, Rhodes, the island of roses, Crete, and its  frescoed Minoan palaces and volcanic Santorini, long believed  to be the location of the lost continent of Atlantis. Athens and the Aegean Sea are a legacy that we offer together with Egypt, the Eternal 'Gift of the Nile' as described by the Greek historian Herodotus . Start in Cairo, a city of a thousand minarets and a hundred cupolas, of winding alleys and vaulted passages…and not far into the desert, the famous pyramids of Giza. Embark on the 5-star deluxe Sonesta Nile Goddess, for a 4-day cruise along the Nile, the river worshipped as a river-god. This river cruise reveals the splendors of dynasty after dynasty of pharaohs. Magic names of legend. Luxor, Karnak, the Valley of the Kings the temple of Queen Hatshepsut the Colossi of Memnon, the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus, the Falcon God. Rejoice at the Temple of Isis at Philae, a temple moved it in its entirety to its present site when it's original location was threatened by the rising waters caused by the High Dam. Experience a felucca (Nile sail boat) ride to the Aga Kahn Mausoleum. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime trip! A romantic journey through space and time.
