The coast of the Aegean is mountainous and only in Macedonia and Thrace in the north is there extensive coastal plains. A major feature of the Aegean is that no ship can be out of sight of land for long. In classical times, this encouraged navigation and facilitated movement between its shores. Today most of the islands in the Aegean Sea are Greek. With the "Aegean Treasures" land and cruise tour you will explore many of the exciting culturally diverse ports of call in Greece and Turkey. You will begin your voyage in Athens where a half-day tour of the city is provided with your package. You will visit the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. Your Aegean Tour then continues on to Mykonos, Kusadasi, Patmos, Rhodes, Heraklion, and Santorini. All of these cities offer optional excursions once you arrive in the destination. You will also be provided with four star accommodations in Mykonos and Santorini.

Overnight flight to Athens. Meals and refreshments served on board.

Day 2 Wed Athens
Morning arrival in Athens Airport where your Central Holidays host will meet and assist you with transfer to your hotel. Afternoon and balance of day at leisure.

Day 3 Thu Athens
Half-day morning city tour includes highlights of Athens and the Acropolis plus the new Acropolis Museum. Afternoon and balance of day at leisure. (B)

Day 4 Fri Cruise/Mykonos
This morning you will be transferred to the port of Piraeus and sail to Mykonos. Disembark in Mykonos and transfer to your selected hotel. (B)

Day 5-6 Sat-Sun Mykonos
Two full days at leisure to explore and enjoy this cosmopolitan island. Relax at your resort hotel or take an optional cruise-tour to the island of Delos. (B)

Day 7 Mon Mykonos/Cruise
Afternoon transfer to your cruise ship and depart for the next port of call. (B,D)

Day 8 Tue Kusadasi/Patmos
Morning arrival in Kusadasi, Turkey, located nearby Ephesus, one of the 'Seven Wonders of the Ancient World'. Wander through the famous Turkish bazaar or enjoy an optional tour of Ephesus. This afternoon sail to Patmos, site of the Monastery of St. John the Divine and the Grotto of the Apocalypse. Optional excursion to visit these sites is available. Evening departure for Rhodes. Day 9 Wed Rhodes
A day on the Island of Roses, famed for its Medieval Old Town, great shopping and ancient site of the Colossus of Rhodes. Visit the Temple of Athena on the majestic Acropolis of Lindos, overlooking the Bay of Paul (optional) or visit the Valley of Butterflies on your own. Sail in the evening. (B,L,D)

Day 10 Thu Heraklion/Santorini
Morning call at Greece's largest island, Crete. Visit Knossos and the Palace of King Minos (optional). Afternoon arrival at the volcanic island of Santorini with some of its towns perched high above the caldera and the volcano. Disembark and transfer to your selected hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 11-12 Fri-Sat Santorini
Two full days to explore the wonders of this unique island. Enjoy a magnificent sunset at a cafe in Oia. Optional visit to a local winery or relax at one of the black sand beaches. (B)

Day 13 Sun Santorini/Athens/USA
A short flight to Athens Airport this morning where you connect with your return flight to the USA, arriving the same day. (B)
