Hotel
Description
This 5 star hotel is located right on Via Veneto, close to the Villa Borghese Gardens, and within easy walking distance of the Spanish Steps. Built in Art Nouveau style in 1904 and named Regina in honor of Queen Margherita of Savoy who stayed in the hotel for an extensive period, whilst building work on her nearby official Roman residence, Palazzo Margherita, was being completed. This property is full of style and elegance: from the sumptuous atmosphere of the lounge which is dominated by a magnificent Murano chandelier, very fine stucco and sixteenth century works of art, to the more classical and warm hues of the Caffe Baglioni. Still within the hotel yet with its own spectacular entrance on the Via Veneto is the new Brunello Lounge Bar and Restaurant, one of the trendiest addresses in town. Chosen by the great Italian poet and playwright, Gabriele D'Annunzio, as the Roman meeting place for his cultural society in the early 1900 s, the Regina Baglioni hotel still represents the ideal venue for important business and social events in the city. The hotel has three elegant conference rooms with a seating capacity for up to 90 people. The largest of the three, the Belvedere, is situated on the top floor of the hotel and provides access to a panoramic terrace overlooking the city. The 143 guestrooms and suites are all elegantly furnished with a stunning combination of turn of the century glamour and contemporary technology; antique furniture and Italian marble happily cohabiting with satellite TV and Wi-Fi connectivity. Many of the rooms offer superb views of Via Veneto and the city from the large windows or small balconies and terraces. The Deco suites are appointed with authentic Art Deco furniture. The Presidential Deco suite is located on the eighth floor of the Regina Baglioni and boasts an impressive private terrace with Jacuzzi, affording stunning views over the roof tops of Rome.
