Parador de Plasencia
The Parador is the former Convent of Santo Domingo, founded by the Zuniga family in the middle of the 15th century, built in gothic style both inside and out. Enjoy the exquisite gastronomy from Extremadura: potatoes soup, partridge stew, roasted lamb with honey, Vera figs in syrup, and above all, 'migas' (fried breadcrumbs). Upon entering Plasencia, the Parador may be reached through the Puerta de Coria. At the end of the street we find ourselves in the Plaza de San Vicente Ferrer, where the Parador stands. Caceres is located 53 miles from the Parador. With its marvellous location at the very heart of the historical quarter of Plasencia, it is the ideal point from which to discover the architectural delights of this unique city, as well as the marvellous surrounding country side.
