Moditlo River Lodge sits at the heart of the Blue Canyon Conservancy, a stretch of protected land in close proximity to the world-renowned Greater Kruger National Park and is home to an astonishing array of fauna and flora. Named for the gentle beast of the bushveld, Moditlo means 'place of the elephant', and the quiet grace of this extraordinary creature echoes throughout the lodge and its surroundings.
At Moditlo River Lodge we have 16 luxurious rooms (four twin, twelve double), set individually at the end of meandering walkways that link to the Main Lodge. Built in accordance with our conservation policy, the locations of the rooms as well as the raised walkways were carefully chosen to ensure that our presence here has the least possible impact on the environment.
Spare and stylish with an understated elegance, our rooms were designed and decorated to allow for a decidedly unique Bushveld stay. Imagine a cool, calm oasis of crisp, white Percale linen, gentle air-conditioning and utter privacy where you can retreat to enjoy a refreshing afternoon nap, peaceful evening slumber or linger languidly on your private deck over a glass of wine or a good book.
Each room is fitted with a coffee station, personal safety box and mini bar for your convenience and comes stocked with a range of high quality guest amenities. Run a hot bath in the freestanding tub and enjoy a nice, long soak after your game drive or jump in the shower that has a blind that may be opened to enjoy your own, private view of the bush surrounding the cottages.
Additionally, you won't have to lift a finger throughout your stay. Our staff members are discreet and efficient and at the ready to ensure that your room remains as tidy and welcoming as you found it when you arrived. You also have the option of having a ranger to escort you to your room in the evening if you wish.
