Day 1 - Panama City

Welcome to Panama! Upon arrival at Tocumen International Airport you will be transferred to your hotel in Panama City for check-in. The remainder of the day is yours at leisure to explore and get to know the capital of Panama.

Day 2 - Panama City

After breakfast, your half day tour takes you to the most interesting places in the city. You will see the ruins of Old Panama, climb up the Cathedral tower, visit the Old Panama Museum and then continue to Casco Viejo (the old city compound), which dates back to the late 1600's. Casco Viejo is home to the monuments of Ferdinand de Lesseps and other Frenchmen instrumental in the ill-fated attempt of the French to construct a canal through Panama. Then, we will continue with a visit to the Miraflores Locks at the Panama Canal, where large ships can be seen transiting the canal. Enjoy a presentation by the Panama Canal Authority about the history of the Panama Canal and marvel at the workings of this feat of human engineering. Afterwards, lunch will be served at a local restaurant. The tour then continues to the Panama Canal area, including the town of Balboa, a former part of the Panama Canal Zone. In the late afternoon you will return to your hotel in Panama City. (B,L)

Day 3 - Panama City I Boquete

This morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to the Chiriquí Province. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel in the charming highland village of Boquete. (B)

Day 4 - Boquete

In Boquete, you have the unique opportunity to visit a coffee plantation and learn about the process of coffee. Our guide will explain the whole process from the picking by the Ngöbe Bugle Indians to the cup while you walk the coffee fields and learn about the coffee plants and how the coffee beans are harvested and processed. We will tour one of the local farms in Boquete where you will be able to admire a clean and modern environmental processing plant. The tour ends in the coffee cupping room in the old mill, where we will taste and cup the product of all the work and craftsmanship. (B)

Day 5 - Boquete

Today we will hike part of the famous Los Quetzales Trail, one of the most scenic trails in Central America. Walking through breathtaking landscapes varying at different altitudes, you will have the opportunity to spot a variety of trees, plants and bird species, including the Quetzal and Magpie Gorgiplateada, amongst many others. Afterwards, enjoy a scenic adventure starting with a drive into the valley behind Boquete town. During the drive you can admire the countryside and coffee farms as you climb into the valley. Upon arrival you will be given a briefing about the 5km loop that will take you over 5 Skywalk bridges ranging from 1,600 – 1,800 meters over sea level. Walk through the treetops of the cloud forest, keeping your eyes open for exotic bird species and other animals native to the area. Admire the extensive panoramic views of the surrounding scenery as your guide interprets the ecosystem and its inhabitants around you. End this unforgettable panoramic tour with a sweet cup of hot chocolate, enjoying the amazing natural landscapes of the highlands and the Baru Volcano National Park. (B,L)

Day 6 - Boquete

Today is a free day for you to relax and explore on your own. (B)

Day 7 - Boquete I Bocas del Toro

Today you will leave Boquete and transfer to Bocas del Toro. Drive over the mountains and down to the Caribbean coast and along the way you will have the chance to step out, stretch your legs and take in the beautiful surroundings. Arrive at your hotel in the town of Bocas. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the town or participate in some optional tours. (B)

Day 8 - Bocas del Toro

After breakfast, enjoy a tour in Bastimentos Marine National Park. You have the opportunity tosnorkel, go beach combing and have an outdoor lunch at your own. In the afternoon, you can walk through themangroves of the park to reach the beach of red frogs,Bastimentos Island, and enjoy the beautiful beach.(B)
