This 11-day adventure into the Aegean Isles & Turkey promises breathtaking scenery, rich history and a chance to explore an amazing part of the world. Travel to Greece and being in Athens, to explore the ancient city at leisure - this is the capital and largest city in all of Greece with fantastic ruins and archaeological sites. The next day join a city tour of the highlights and Acropolis Museum, optional additional tours are available to explore the city and surrounding region. You then board a cruise to Istanbul, the crossroads between Asia and Europe. The Turkey vacation portion begins with exploring Kusadasi, located near Ephesus, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and explore a famous Turkish Bazaar to shop for treasures. Depart for Santorini, Crete and the Island of Roses as your next ports - explore these beautiful villages with optional tours to local ruins, settlements and natural wonders. Your final port is Chios, a divinely fragrant island of the Eastern Aegean Sea, with beautiful vineyards, medieval villages and pristine beaches. Sail to picturesque Mykonos or take an optional excursion to Hora, the island capital. 


Itinerary

Day 1 - TUE I ATHENS

Arrival into Athens. Balance of the day is at leisure for you to get acquainted with Athens, the capital and largest city of Greece.

Day 2 - WED I ATHENS

Half day morning city tour includes highlights of Athens and the Acropolis plus the new Acropolis Museum. Afternoon and balance of day is at leisure. (B)

Day 3 - THU I ATHENS

A full day at leisure to explore this lively city on your own or take an optional tour. (B)

Day 4 - FRI I ATHENS I SANTORINI

Travel to GreeceThis afternoon, you transfer to the port of Athens and embark on your cruise ship. Sail to the volcanic island of Santorini. (B,D)

Day 5 - SAT I SANTORINI

Full day to explore Santorini. Its quaint villages are perched on the rim of the volcano, and believed by many to be the site of the Lost Continent of Atlantis. (B,L,D)

Day 6 - SUN I IZMIR

 Turkey vacation Morning arrival in Izmir, Turkey. Once famous for figs, Izmir (formerly Smyrna), is now Turkey's third largest city, the "capital" of the Aegean region, and a major port set dramatically around a huge bay. (B,L,D)

Day 7 - MON I NAFPLIO

Morning arrival in Nafplio. Nafplio occupies a knockout location on a small port beneath the towering Palamidi fortress, and it is graced with attractive narrow streets, elegant Venetian houses, neoclassical mansions and interesting museums. (B,L,D)

Day 8 - TUE I CRETE

 Turkey vacations Morning call at Greece’s largest island. Crete is a magical tapestry of splendid beaches, ancient treasures, and landscapes encompassing vibrant cities and dreamy villages (B,L,D)

Day 9 - WED I RHODES

Spend the day on the Island of Roses, famed for its Medieval Old Town, great shopping and ancient site of the Colossus of Rhodes. (B,L,D)

Day 10 - THU I CESME I MYKONOS

 Aegean Cruise Morning call at Cesme, Turkey. Known for its hot springs and beaches, Cesme has a long seafront perfect for promenading, a magnificent castle built by the Genoese and a bustling market with plenty of shops and restaurant. In the afternoon, sail to the picturesque isle of Mykonos, known for its windmills and lively harbor. (B,L,D)

Day 11 - FRI MYKONOS I ATHENS TO USA (OR EXTEND YOUR STAY)

Disembark in Athens this morning and say “kali antamosi” to Greece or extend your stay. (B)
