Itinerary

Day 1 - JOHANNESBURG

Transfer to your hotel in Johannesburg. Spend the balance of the day at leisure.

Day 2 - JOHANNESBURG/VICTORIA FALLS

Transfer from your hotel to the O. R. Tambo International Airport for your flight from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls in neighboring Zimbabwe. Upon arrival at the Victoria Falls airport, transfer to your hotel and spend the afternoon at leisure. In the early evening, enjoy a cruise down the mighty Zambezi River. Watch the river banks and the water for a variety of game including hippopotami, crocodiles, elephants, and sometimes even rhinoceroses. Great photo opportunities await against often spectacular African sunsets. (B)

Day 3 - VICTORIA FALLS

Begin your second day in Zimbabwe with a guided tour through Victoria Falls National Park. At 5,603 feet wide, Victoria Falls is largest curtain of water in the world. There is a primeval magic here—a towering column of spray, the thunder of the cascading water, the terrifying abyss, and the tranquil lagoons upstream where hippos and deadly crocodiles lurk. Stop for photos in front of the “Big Tree,” a massive baobab tree that is 1,000 to 1,500 years old. Learn about the history of the Falls and the flora, fauna, bird, and wildlife that call the rainforest home. Raincoats are provided when needed. (B)

Day 4 - VICTORIA FALLS/CHOBE

Drive from Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe across the border at Kazungula into Chobe, Botswana. After arrival and lunch at your lodge within Chobe National Park, begin your exploration of this protected area. Chobe National Park is the second largest game reserve in Botswana.The flowing Chobe River is a life source of the many diverse inhabitants, the most famous being the elephants. Chobe has the highest concentration of elephants in Africa. In the evening, have dinner at your lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 5 - CHOBE

Arrange for an early morning wake-up call on these two days and jump into your next safari experience. After your morning adventure, return to the lodge for breakfast, relaxation, or shop in the curio shop. After lunch, head out for your afternoon trip into Chobe National Park. In the evening, enjoy dinner at your lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 6 - CHOBE

Day 7 - CHOBE/CAPE TOWN

Enjoy your final, exciting early morning adventure through Chobe National Park. After breakfast, begin the drive back to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Again cross the border through Kazungula. Then continue to the Victoria Falls Airport for your flight to Johannesburg. From Johannesburg, connect to your flight to Cape Town and complete the final leg of your journey. Upon arrival in Cape Town, transfer to your hotel and spend the balance of the evening at leisure to relax and explore this cosmopolitan city on your own. (B)

Day 8 - CAPE TOWN

Begin an informative tour of Cape Town. One of the most picturesque tourist destinations in the world, Cape Town is situated amidst majestic mountains and surrounded by pristine white beaches. Weather permitting, take a cable car to the top of Table Mountain, a soaring flat topped-mountain, to observe and learn about exotic flora and fauna and take in one of the best views in all of Africa. Tour the Malay Quarter, Company Gardens, the Edwardian-styled Town Hall, Castle of Good Hope, Table Bay at the base of Table Mountain, and Cape Town’s Diamond Works, a fine jewelry manufacturer. Return to your hotel and spend the balance of the day at leisure. (B)

Day 9 - CAPE TOWN

During your second day in Cape Town, travel via the 12 Apostles and Hout Bay to Chapman’s Peak for one of the region’s most dramatic panoramic views over the city. This full day Cape Peninsula tour will visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, and the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach. (B)

Day 10 - CAPE TOWN

Spend this full day at leisure to relax, explore Cape Town on your own, or participant in several optional excursions. (B)

Day 11 - CAPE TOWN TO USA (OR EXTEND YOUR STAY)

Transfer from your hotel to the Cape Town International Airport or extend your vacation. (B)
