Jordan vacation package

The part of the Holy land on the eastern side of the Jordan River, in the country of Jordan, is blessed with the rich spiritual heritage of the full story of Salvation as recorded in the Bible. Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Ruth, Elijah, John the Baptist, Jesus Christ, Paul and other leading figures from the Bible performed pivotal elements of their divinely-ordained mission in the ancient landscape now within the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

A land of contrasts, the intriguing destination of Jordan mystifies from the start. It's a place best known for images of the entrance to the city of Petra made famous in near-endless documentaries and well-known Hollywood blockbusters like Indiana Jones. Beyond Petra, Jordan's natural treasures simply amazes travelers...from its mineral rich Red Sea, to its desert, and the Jordan Valley. Here you will journey to one of the best-preserved Roman settlements of Jerash. Then tour Ajloun Castle overlooking the West Bank.

In Amman you can choose among a variety of exciting optional excursions or explore on your own. Next you will visit Madaba and the Church of St. George and step on Mt. Nebo, the site where Moses was to have seen the ''Promised Land.'' Petra awaits your exploration as you continue along your adventure in Jordan. This remarkable ancient settlement was once an important intersection for trade routes that linked East and West. Petra was founded in 200 B.C. by the Nabataean, an ancient people responsible for the valley's most impressive monument, Al- Khazneh (Treasury). If you opt to enter Petra by horseback you will commence your full-day exploration at Al-Khazneh, the massive facade carved out of rocks that face a narrow gorge at city's entryway. Optional excursions can take you to delve deeper into the culture with a cooking class or a Turkish bath experience. Further along, your journey takes you to Wadi Rum for a jeep tour of the desert, terrain that served as the background of the famous 1962 film Lawrence of Arabia. You hotel near the Dead Sea beckons with time at leisure to soak in the mineral leaden waters. More time for exploring and unique experiences is yours for the taking with options including a meandering camel ride or authentic Bedouin tea experience.
