BEST OF ARGENTINA AND BRAZIL

Day1 - SAT I BUENOS AIRES
Arrival in Buenos Aires and transfer to your hotel. Later depart on your Buenos Aires panoramic tour. Get ready for this electrifying city! We will drive to the Plaza de Mayo, the heart and soul of Buenos Aires, serving as its historical, political and cultural center. First stop is Casa Rosada (the President’s Palace, from which Eva Peron used to address the crowds), the Cabildo (City Hall) and the Metropolitan Cathedral. The tour continues to the oldest district in the city, San Telmo, which until 1888 was a river port. Today it is one of the most desirable places to live in Buenos Aires. Next to the worker district of La Boca, famous for its colorful tin-houses, and Recoleta a residential neighborhood for the elite of Buenos Aires. It is an area of great historical and architectural interest, largely due to the Recoleta Cemetery, within which you can find the grave of the famous Evita. Then, continuing along the widest avenue in the world, Avenida 9 de Julio, to the Plaza Lavalle with the Federal Court of Justice and the Teatro Colón, the main opera house, and finally to Palermo, the city’s largest barrio. Now it’s back to the hotel.
Day2 - SUN I BUENOS AIRES

Day3 - MON IBUENOS AIRES
Today we’ll enjoy a half day tour of Tigre, located about 18 miles from your hotel. We’ll drive along the northern residential districts of the city until we reach San Isidro, which ties with Palermo as Argentina’s most affluent neighbourhood; a pretty, cobblestoned colonial area with mansions fronting the River Plate. Then we’ll continue on to Tigre, a charming town located on the shore of the exotic Parana Delta, where a great number of summer residences, yacht and rowing clubs attract porteños and tourists alike for weekend relaxation and water sports. We’ll enjoy a one hour boat ride along the remote, carefree islands of the Tigre Delta, passing waterfront homes on stilts, a fruit market, forest and grasslands. We’ll then drive back to the city via the Panamericana highway. (B)
Day 4 - TUE IBUENOS AIRES I IGUASSU FALLS
Transfer to the airport to board your flight to Iguassu. Upon arrival in Iguassu, pick-up at the airport and transfer to the Argentine National Park. Our first stop is at the Argentine side of the falls. Be prepared for one of the most spectacular natural beauties in the world: Iguassu Falls with 275 thundering waterfalls. The Argentine side offers walking trails to explore the park’s rich flora and fauna and such right-up-close views of the falls that you can really feel and hear their awesome power. Board the ecofriendly Waterfalls train that runs inside the subtropical rainforest for 2.5 miles At Falls Station are 2 trails: The Upper Circuit, crossing over the top of the canyon and the Lower Circuit, a 1-mile trail, provides waterfall views from 8 catwalk lookouts for different perspectives. The highlight of the trip comes last! We catch the train to the Devil’s Throat Station, from which a 1.2 mile walk to a suspended platform lookout delivers Iguassu’s biggest thrill: the tallest and largest waterfall called Devil’s Throat, a 14-fall combo crashing in a 269-foot sheer drop! Now we’ll cross the border and head to our hotel on the Brazilian side. (B)
Day5 - WED I IGUASSU FALLS
This morning, we’ll tour the Brazilian side and its magnificent panoramic and full frontal views of Iguassu Falls in a more compact area. Starting from the hotel, we’ll drive to the Brazilian National Park. A 1.2 mile trail through the catwalks and trails among the subtropical rainforest will bring us to the rainbow decorated panorama spectacles. An elevator provides aerial views of the falls in their entirety. In addition, there are also direct views of the Devil’s Throat from a catwalk with an extension right to its lower base. At the end of the tour, it’s back to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. (B)
Day 6 - THU I IGUASSU FALLS I RIO DE JANEIRO
Transfer from the hotel to the airport for the flight to Rio de Janeiro. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. (B)
Day7 - FRI IRIO DE JANEIRO
We will leave the hotel and proceed to the Cosme Velho Station to board a cog-train (*) for the ride through Tijuca Forest up Corcovado Mountain at 2,340 feet. The ride iis a wonderful opportunity for a closer look at the forest’s lush tropical vegetation and to enjoy scenic landscapes. Once at the top, an escalator will bring you to the pedestal of the famous statue of Christ the Redeemer for a 360 degree view of the “Marvelous City”, as Rio is known worldwide. Then down we go! Our next stop is at Sugarloaf Mountain at 1,280 feet for additional breathtaking views. We’ll then take a ride along Guanabara Bay to downtown Rio. Home to the financial and business centers as well as the historic center, we’ll visit attractions such as the Candelária Church, Saint Sebastian Cathedral, the Lapa Aqueduct, Municipal Theatre, and the Sambadrome, site of Rio’s famous samba school and the exhibition center for the finale Carnaval. Day 8 - SAT I RIO DE JANEIRO TO USA (OR EXTEND YOUR STAY)
Transfer to the airport to board your flight home. (B)
